caravaggioCaravaggio: Docent-Led Tour

Columbus Museum of Art
Sunday, January 15, 2012; 1:00 pm
(with a preview discussion at 9:15 a.m. in the Parish Library)
$4 per person
Stay for coffee hour and then join the Worship, Music and Arts ministry team for a docent-led tour of Caravaggio: Behold the Man! The Impact of a Revolutionary Realist. Caravaggio revolutionized the art world with his dramatic lighting and distinctively realistic style. CMA offers a rare opportunity to view the work of this Italian Baroque master. Ecce Homo (Behold the Man), lent by the Musei di Strada Nuova - Palazzo Bianco, Genoa, Italy, will be the centerpiece of an exclusive exhibition organized by CMA. Underscoring his remarkable influence upon his contemporaries will be 10 other paintings - images of saints and sinners alike, lent from the collections of major Ohio museums and one private collection.
Parking and admission are free at the museum on Sunday; however, there is a $4 charge per person for the docent. The museum is located at 480 East Broad Street.

Caleb's CrossingTrinity Worship, Music & Arts book discussion –

Sunday, January 22 at 9:15 a.m. we will discuss Caleb’s Crossing, a novel by Geraldine Brooks.  The discussion will be led by Susan McKinley and Emily Pucker.
Geraldine Brooks takes a remarkable shard of history and brings it to vivid life. In 1665, a young man from Martha's Vineyard became the first Native American to graduate from Harvard College. Upon this slender factual scaffold, Brooks has created a luminous tale of love and faith, magic and adventure.
Click the book cover for more details on the novel.
