IN THE GARDEN continues to flourish in the Trinity Undercroft each Sunday! We served 120 new and returning diners on Jan. 22 with lunch provided by The Church of the Solid Faith, and 92 on Jan.29 with lunch provided by St. Phillip Episcopal. Our worship program last Sunday included a group discussion of the three deaths from exposure that occurred recently on the street, and advice on where to go for shelter. The group voiced a need to assist each other in finding solutions for shelter and food during the bitter days of winter, and the IN THE GARDEN team promised to help as much as we could.
We continue to need help in providing food and services to our ITG friends, and we need YOU! The ITG Team invites you to consider providing a meal as a family service (or perhaps combining with other families or groups) in the weeks ahead. The ITG Core Team can provide you with menus and other tips for providing a meal if you wish. Perhaps you would like to come one Sunday and help serve to get a better idea of the IN THE GARDEN experience and how you might be a part?
A sign-up sheet for preparing a meal or volunteering to help will be available in the Trinity Narthex beginning Sunday, Feb. 5; Karen Peeler will contact you to select a date and answer questions, or you can contact her at 848-3249 or Please consider joining your Trinity family one Sunday as we truly meet Jesus IN THE GARDEN!

Stewardship Update as of 1/31/12:

18 new pledgers (individual or family) have made a financial commitment to Trinity Church for 2012.  They join numerous repeat pledgers in committing $221,113 for the support of our mission and ministry for the new year.  This total is 97% of our pledging goal for the year.
If you have not filled out a pledge card, please fill out the online pledge form to make your financial commitment for 2012.  Every contribution from everyone at Trinity makes a huge difference in our shared ministry for 2012, and effective budgeting for 2012 depends on have accurate pledge expectations.

Please don't forget our neighbors on the street. New dry socks are essential for this time of year. We have many weekday requests for snacks and canned self-opening food items as well. All donations are greatly appreciated.

We pray for all who are sick or suffering at this time –Emma Parey, Gail Perri, Marie Shaffer, The Rev. Gene MacDowell, David Lozano, Carter Lilly, Bob & Jodi Park, Carrie Stowers, Joanne Giroux, and others whom we name silently or aloud.
We pray for Capt. Brian Smith, Jordan Sellman, Ted Abad, Private Dan Williamson, Cynthia Epler, Matt Schumann, Commander Scott Whaley, Specialist Michael A. Martin, Staff Sgt. Robert A Griffith Jr. and all who serve our country overseas and at home.
We remember all who work for peace around the world, especially in Iran and Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
And we still our hearts and turn our prayers today to the poorest and the most easily forgotten in our midst . . . praying especially for all who will visit Trinity this afternoon and worship at In The Garden, and the many in need of food and lodging.  We ask for vision to see the needs of our neighbors, hear the cries of the poor, and respond with courage and with love.
