Our Community is better because of BREAD!!!!

BREADBREAD = People of Faith Building Power to “Do Justice.”  When more than 4,000 people from more than 50 faith based groups join together small steps leading to great changes happen.  At Trinity, we are very fortunate to be part of BREAD!
Proof of the power of BREAD: In the fall of 2011, after three years of hard work, BREAD finally got the Franklin County Treasurer Ed Leonard to present articles of Incorporation for the new County Land Re utilization Program (CLRC). This process will raise about $3.5 million a year to tackle the plague of vacant and abandoned housing faces our communities. At the County Commission meeting to pass this legislation, County Commissioner Paula Brooks noted that, "BREAD is the conscience of our community." BREAD congregations have now begun the process of nominating vacant houses for action by the Land Bank.
Be part of making BREAD RISE and increasing the awareness among community leaders of critical community issues.  Attend the most well run meeting of 4000 people you will ever attend. Don’t be left to wonder what this is all about!
Mark your calendars: Nehemiah Action will be held at the Celeste Center at the State Fairgrounds on Monday, May 7.  BREAD will tackle jobs, health care, and juvenile crime at this critical meeting. Registration begins at 6:15 p.m.
Make a difference! Attend!! If you want to be in on some of the preliminary sharing of information about this year’s issues, you are also welcome to attend the BREAD Rally, Monday, April 16 - 7 PM, Congregation Tifereth Israel, 1354 E. Broad St., Columbus 43205
For more information contact Dale Deubler, 291-0055.  Speak up, don’t be shy. YOU NEED TO BE AMONG THE COUNTED!  If I can’t handle all the calls, Jim Zafris and Peggy Malone are ready to add their numbers to this call list!!!

Please don't forget our neighbors on the street. New dry socks are essential for this time of year. We have many weekday requests for snacks and canned self-opening food items as well. All donations are greatly appreciated.

Altar Decoration Memorials

If you would like to place a flower memorial or thanksgiving in the Sunday bulletin, you can now sign up online here, or contact Diane Donato in the Parish Office via email or at 221-5351.  A donation of $50 is suggested, but any reasonable amount will be accepted.  Only a few dates are spoken for currently.

We pray for all who are sick or suffering at this time – Carter Lilly, John Johnson, Robert Milbery, Andrew Sapp, Emma Parey, The Rev. Gene MacDowell, Bob & Jodi Park, Carrie Stowers,  Joanne Giroux, and others whom we name silently or aloud.
We pray for Commander Andrew Saik, Capt. Brian Smith, Jordan Sellman, Ted Abad, Private Dan Williamson, Cynthia Epler, Matt Schumann, Commander Scott Whaley, Specialist Michael A. Martin, Staff Sgt. Robert A Griffith Jr., Mike Lashutka who will be deployed to Afghanistan this week and all who serve our country overseas and at home.
We remember all who work for peace around the world, especially in Syria, Iran and Israel, Afghanistan, Pakistan and South Sudan.
And we still our hearts and turn our prayers today to the poorest and the most easily forgotten in our midst . . . praying especially for all who will visit Trinity this afternoon and worship at In The Garden, and the many in need of food and lodging.  We ask for vision to see the needs of our neighbors, hear the cries of the poor, and respond with courage and with love.
We pray for Doris Smith who died this past week.
