Director of Christian Formation for Children and Families
Sought for Trinity Church

Trinity Episcopal Church, an historic congregation in the heart of Downtown Columbus, is seeking a new Director of Christian Formation. Trinity Church has a long history of championing social justice, sponsoring inter-faith conversations and responding to the underserved in our city. We are seeking an energetic leader to build on our strengths to form a dynamic program for children and youth reflecting the diversity of our Church and broader Columbus community.
In this newly created part-time position, we are seeking a Director with the drive, imagination, and creativity to build on the vision of the Rector and church school leaders. Like many other urban churches, Trinity is faced with the challenge of serving families residing in multiple zip codes with children enrolled in many school districts. We believe our Christian Formation program has the potential to enhance even more broadly our own congregation, as well as a wider population of downtown Columbus families’ current service to a wide and diverse population of Downtown Columbus families and others in the community who share our mission.

St Margaret's Pastoral Care Circle
wants to enlarge and get closer

We want to enlarge? At least 20 Parishioners have told Mary Gahbauer or co-convener Andrea Govan that they are willing to be called on from time to time to help out in times of need of other Parishioners. We would love for that number to increase, so that we always have a good bank of persons willing to step up. Those who have helped out often say that they feel themselves to be the one benefiting from such ministry. Look for new pew cards to see what we (and you) are able to offer.
We want to get closer? Although we like to announce ourselves as "the committee that doesn't meet", neither part of that is true. We don't function as a committee but as a network of friends, and although we provide services to our fellow congregants as and when needed without regular meetings, the truth is that it is beneficial to get together once in a while.
On Saturday 24th of May we will meet in the church at 9am, for a morning of refreshing our ideas, and improving our skills of meeting the needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Our Rev Deacon Brian Shaffer, who has a long history in hospital pastoral care, and who has written guidelines for pastoral care visiting, will address the needs and stumblingblocks of those who would like to offer help, but shy away from it in case they don't have what is needed.
If already involved, or if at all interested in this expression of Loving Thy Neighbor, please attend!
