Adult Formation in June

wisdomContinuing through the month of June, Trinity’s adult formation gathers in the parish library at 9:15 a.m. to explore  “Wisdom.” We’ll look at biblical, ethical, artistic, and every-day life expressions of wisdom—and you will add much to the conversation!

June 29 “Sophia: Holy Wisdom, or Women’s Ways of Wisdom”
Our “surprise guest” joins the adult formation group this Sunday! Sr. Joan Scanlon, OP, will reflect on Wisdom in this her Jubilee (50th) year as a Dominican sister.

Trinity to form Flower Guild...

A group of parishioners interested in creating floral decorations for the church is being formed. Experience is not necessary, but a creative eye and desire to serve is. Training days will be held in the early fall.
Contact Kent Phillips for more details and to sign on for this new ministry.

Disposable Diapers are always in need

Please don't forget our neighbors on the street. Candles, diapers, and new dry socks are essential for this time of year. We have many weekday requests for snacks and canned self-opening food items as well. Remember to save hotel toiletries from your travels. All donations are greatly appreciated.

Summer Sunday School Begins July 6 at 9:30 a.m.

We will have Sunday School each week during the summer as we have for the past several years, beginning at the same time as the morning worship service - 9:30 a.m. July 6 through August 31. Children entering kindergarten and older can join in our fun. We will continue to use lesson plans from the Episcopal Church, here
We will be spending as much time outside as we can. Please dress casually. Friends are welcomed!
We will begin each class in the Sunday School room and typically go outside to the garden area just outside the front doors of the Church as soon as we can. We will enter into Church at the Peace Exchange.
The nursery will continue to be staffed each week for infants and younger children.

powerThe Big Picture study group that met  during Lent to study Richard Rohr’s book  Falling Upward will convene again to view and discuss "The Power of Myth," a six-session series of discussions between Bill Moyers and anthropological philosopher Joseph Campbell about commonalities in world religions, myths, and philosophical traditions.
For this Sunday, June 29, 6:00 pm session "The Power of Myth" discussion group will be meeting in the Undercroft of Trintiy Church.
All are invited to attend.  This series of video discussions was made 25 years ago, and has been re-issued with added materials and interviews; it was considered innovative at the time, and still today poses powerful insights into many of life's deepest questions.  If you have further questions about the film series or the meetings, ask Karen Peeler, Stuart Hobbs, or Jean Cotting.
