Upcoming event...Trinity Church will host Becca Stevens in November for an exciting and uplifting weekend.
BECCA STEVENS BOOKS FOR SALE AT DISCOUNT
In preparation for her visit to Trinity church, the parish office now has multiple copies for sale at a discount of two of Becca Stevens' most popular books. SNAKE OIL ($12.00) is her biography and introduction to the Magadalene House program and Thistle Farms business enterprise which supports it LETTERS FROM THE FARM ($15.00) her latest book, is a collection of short meditations based on nature and the seasons, covering an entire year. These will also be for sale during Coffee Hour each Sunday.
What started as an impossible dream-to build a café that employs women recovering from prostitution and addiction-is helping to fuel an astonishing movement to bring freedom and fair wages to women producers worldwide where tea and trafficking are linked by oppression and the opiate wars.
Becca Stevens started the Thistle Stop Café to empower women survivors. But when she discovered a connection between café workers and tea laborers overseas, she embarked on a global mission called "Shared Trade" to increase the value of women survivors and producers across the globe.

THIS WEEK WE REMEMBER IN PRAYER:We remember all who work for peace around the world, and especially this day we pray for our nation and other international partners discerning war and peace and wisdom in this time of terror and violence. Remembering friends and family members related to this community, we pray for Petty Officer Kristy Sizemore, Cynthia Epler, Matt Schumann, Commander Scott Whaley, Gunnery Sergeant Robert A Griffith Jr., and all who serve our country.
For peace in a war torn world, especially in Syria; and for women, children and men who journey for freedom and seek refuge from conflict. May God give us compassion and greater courage to offer hope and help to refugees and all in need.
We renew our commitments to serve the neediest and most easily forgotten in our midst and remember all who are homeless and hungry in our city today. We give thanks for the generous hospitality offered this afternoon at In The Garden, and pray for the Holy Spirit’s abundant grace in our fellowship.
We pray for all who are sick or suffering at this time –Doug Nolan, Ava Guglielmi, Mary Beittel, Jonie Johnson, Cliff Miller, Bill Form, Dick Oman, Dave Mozano, Pauline Austin, Marie & Keith Duty, Jan Heston, Frances Bennekamper, Gayle Nash, Jayla Kennedy, Sharon Whaley, Hal Duryee and others whom we name silently or aloud.
Birthdays: Barb Gill, Liz Arndt, Pauline Austin, Marc Rosenfeld, Jane Oman, Rachael Teliak
Anniversaries: James & Vanessa Jamison, Chad & Courtney Clark
We remember Troy Johnson for whom a Liturgy of the Resurrection was offered last week in Hopewell Junction, New York.
